Animal Encounter Terms & Conditions

Before booking your animal encounter please read these terms and conditions to ensure that you or the person(s) that you are making the booking for can comply.  If you require any clarification, please contact Wild Discovery direct on 01772 673836.  If you make a booking which breaches these terms and conditions no refund will be given and a transfer to another encounter is not guaranteed.

An animal encounter can be booked for up to a maximum of 4 people (1 person only for the Crocodile encounter). 

The person(s) completing the animal encounter MUST be the minimum age or above.  Please do not book an encounter for anyone under the minimum age as they will not be able to complete the encounter and no refund will be given.  An encounter transfer can only be given if the person is of minimum age and if there is availability.

5 years + for Tortoise

6 years + for Armadillo

8 years + for Lemur, Bat and Capybara

10 years + Crocodile

If the person(s) completing the animal encounter is under 18 years they must be accompanied by a supervising adult who will need to pay the standard admission price on the day.  The admission is a day pass so you can come and go all day.

Any family of friends visiting with you will need to pay usual admission on the day.

If the person(s) completing the encounter have any physical or medical conditions and/or allergies that may affect their encounter experience you must inform Wild Discovery before booking to ensure we can provide a full experience. 

Not suitable for pregnant women or anyone in a wheelchair.

The person(s) taking part in the encounter and the supervisor must attend the health and safety briefing before starting and sign to say that they understand.  The person(s) taking part understands that Wild Discovery are not and shall not be responsible or liable for any illness, injury to person or damage to property resulting from the Animal Encounters session.

The person(s) taking part in the encounter understand that the animals are still deemed wild and may be unpredictable and will adhere to all instructions provided by the keeper.  If at any time during the encounter the person(s) taking part do not follow the health and safety instructions the encounter will be stopped immediately with no refund.

Wild Discovery reserve the right to alter the contents of the programme of the Encounter session at any time, for reasons beyond our control, including but not limited to, animal welfare, health and safety, staff shortages, adverse weather or changes to our animal collection. Wild Discovery will aim to reschedule any cancelled Encounters, however, we cannot be held liable for any travel, accommodation or other related costs or expenses in the event that an Encounter is rescheduled. In the event that we have to reschedule any Encounters to a different date and you are unable to attend the rescheduled date we reserve the right to cancel your booking and provide you with a refund of the price paid. 

Sturdy suitable food wear must be worn, NO open toed shows are allowed.  Please wear clothes you do not mind getting dirty and be prepared for all weathers.  No strappy or sleeveless tops can be worn.  Long hair must be tied back.

Full payment must be taken at the time of booking.  Payment can be taken by card or cash.

No discounts apply for Ribby Hall Staff, Leisure Members or Holiday Home Owners.

Cancellation fees do apply: If cancelled within 2 weeks no refund applies.  If cancelled 1 month before 25% refund applies. 

If cancelled 2 months before 50% refund applies.  If cancelled 4 months before 75% refund applies.  If cancelled 6 months before 100% refund applies.
